"CD_Slopper is the file 'working-name' for the Computer Music unit of Oswald Berthold and Florian Hecker (both Farmer´s Manual). Hecker and Ost first met in 1995/96 at the MEGO office in Vienna. Both familiar with Computers and DSP processes of both academic and autodidactic influences, they grabbed their first mobile computer when Apple released the first PowerPC laptop ever, the PowerBook 5300! On the first Mego tour [1997] it was their only weapon, maybe some CD's and 12" included, they... Finding spare time between their tour schedules, they either met in each other's studio, working on different computer platforms as SGI/UNIX, LINUX and Mac OS to produce this release. SaskieWoxi is cd_slopper's first multi-media release. This CD+ contains 44 audio tracks plus static as well as dynamic HTML/text/pics/Java executables. The results as you will experience are different & superior to the infantile and wagon-jumping-rhizomesque-abstract-modulated-glitc hy-parody-shitty-plug-in music. Just have a listen. Vital:"This is the second release by Tray and again we welcome Farmers Manual. The first 12" was a weird drum & bass track backed by a likewise weird hard-chill track. Indexed with 99 points this is an extension of that 12". Weird tracks, owing in some ways to d&b as much as it does to industrial music. If I say a lot of this sounds fucked, believe me this is truly fucked. The more accessible (if that is an appropiate word in this context) are in the beginning of the CD, but it gradually grows noiser and weirder throughout. The noisy bits and pieces at the end are suitable for random play or looping mode. Again fun for home-DJs (as you would be thrown at outof the club if you play this on the dance floor) and bedroom composers. Industrial music for the digital generation!" (FdW)

Lastsigh.com:"The recently established British label OR releases some of the most original and challenging music these days; the third Farmers Manual CD Explorers_We is certainly no exception. Explorers_We has been called "a sinewave massacre" by one of the band members, and it is a fitting description of this sixty minute long, continuous track of electronic sound manipulations.
All in all, this is a fantastic excursion into the outer extremes of sound-exploitation. Anyone with ADD will enjoy the mercurial shifts and turns of Explorers_We, and those with an interest in experimental music...well, they more than likely will be familiar with OR and Farmers Manual already, but otherwise should rush out and acquire this release instantly.

"Disruptor was recorded at the Endoscope/Technoscope Project, Graz, Austria, during the Herbst Festival in 1997. Karkowski also released on OR SPL in the unit Mazk (with Masami Akita of Merzbow) and he was also a sometime member of The Hafler Trio."
