In the early 90s Jeff Mills created a trilogy of concept albums: X-101 (Sonic Destroyer), X-102 (The Rings Of Saturn) and this third volume: X-103: Atlantis. A series of short tracks of severely futuristic intent, this is a staggering album of minimalist beats, swirling, screaming electronics, and strange sonic landscapes that act as built in interludes. A masterpiece of music that might exemplify the Detroit techno vision of emotional human music made via machinary as well as anything else you can name.
